We are a Midwest Regional firm with experiences nationwide. We offer fundraising expertise, general consultation, training for professionals and ways to fundraise and market efficiently. Our mission is to provide high quality consulting services to nonprofit organizations, working as partners to build their capacities and fulfill their goals.

As a family firm first founded by Paul Strawhecker, we have more than 25 years of nonprofit experience, a clientele spanning the country, partnerships with more than 325 clients, and more than $500 million dollars raised. We have worked successfully in both rural and urban settings helping passionate everyday folks redefine and achieve their visions for better communities and organizations since our beginning.

We began as Paul J. Strawhecker Inc. in 1995

Paul J. Strawhecker, MPA, ACFRE, founded Paul J. Strawhecker, Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1995, providing comprehensive resource development services to nonprofit organizations. In 1996, Paul Strawhecker was accredited as the 27th person in the U.S. to earn the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive (ACFRE). In 2015, the firm was honored as a Greater Omaha Chamber Business Excellence Award winner. 

Paul has also served as President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Foundation – Nebraska chapter, an association with the purpose of supporting nonprofit professionals internationally. Paul authored the first edition Capital Campaign Implementation: Are You Ready? in 1998. Paul has received several honors including the J. Robert Sandberg Award in 2015 from the Charitable Gift Planners of Nebraska, awarded to someone who has made a difference, demonstrated their commitment and mentored others in the field of planned giving as well as AFP Nebraska’s first Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019 (which he received alongside Jodie Nolan, PJS consultant from 2001–2019).

Paul J. Strawhecker, Inc. has provided services to nonprofits serving community in a variety of ways including: religious institutions, educational institutions, cultural/community organizations, social service agencies, and healthcare facilities.

Passing the torch: Strawhecker Nonprofit Services

Son, Ryan Strawhecker has followed his father’s footsteps in his career as a fundraiser and nonprofit leader. Ryan worked with three Omaha nonprofit organizations of different size and scope prior to rejoining the family consultation practice in 2017 and founding Strawhecker Nonprofit Services in 2021. Ryan believes in the success of teams and having everyone’s voice at the table. 

While still honoring the Strawhecker namesake, Strawhecker Nonprofit Services offers solutions in fundraising, marketing, planning, and training.  Our full-service structure and specialized consultants equips SNS to assist all of our clients’ needs including partnerships with other firms and organizations.

Each of our clients is unique. We meet their needs with strategic, tailored processes that get to the heart of the actions that will make them successful in their missions.

We are largely upbeat, fun-loving, respectable people wanting to see the missions of nonprofits fulfilled.
