Mikaela Sibley

Mikaela joined Strawhecker Nonprofit Services in 2022 and is no stranger to the development world.

Attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a major in Broadcast Journalism, Mikaela launched her career in radio. However, after 9/11, she realized her heart was somewhere between spreading the word and funding the missions. She knew making her community a better, brighter, and more vibrant home for all was where her passions were.

Spending most of her career in nonprofits as Director of Pacific Pals, Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Norman, OK, Director of Affinity Group with United Way of the Midlands, and Senior Director of Fund Development for the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Mikaela has a strong track record of increasing contributions and facilitating major donor growth by identifying, soliciting and stewarding donors/grantors that also includes volunteers and community leaders.

Mikaela has more than 18 years of experience managing communications, and developing solid, trusting relationships with staff, peers, community members and agencies – including corporate businesses and partnerships. Her strong track record of collaborative success allows her to achieve business development goals effectively.

A strategic and tactical visionary, Mikaela is recognized as a motivated community leader with versatile expertise in fundraising, business development, and partnerships. In short, Mikaela executes her promises.

Mikaela is married to John Sibley. You can find her teaching fitness classes most 5 a.m. mornings. When she’s not in a meeting or the gym, she and John spend as much time as possible with family and friends, especially their little nephew Jackson and niece Lyla.
