Lori Shriner

Lori has more than 25 years’ experience in higher education advancement. She first dabbled in university relations as a student writer in the Drake University Relations office. Upon graduation she followed her first love – journalism – and joined the reporting staff at the Council Bluffs Nonpareil, then served as editor of the Cherokee Daily Times in Iowa. She returned to her hometown to pursue an MBA at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and worked part-time at the University of Nebraska Foundation (UNF) in communication and special projects. Lori again returned to journalism and spent seven years as editor and general manager of the Seward County Independent.

 She returned UNF as Director of Research and Prospect Management, a group which later included donor relations/stewardship as Assistant Vice President for Development Services. She served as Assistant Vice President for Campaign and Strategic Planning during the Campaign for Nebraska: Unlimited Opportunities, and later served as a special projects manager and led operations, grant-making and communication for the Women Investing in Nebraska collective giving and grant-making group sponsored by UNF as Assistant Vice President for Development Operations and Initiatives.

 Lori enjoys being part of a team working on a mission-based project, whether it is informing communities or helping to fund important nonprofit endeavors.
