Senior Consultant
Carol (Berggren) Keller grew up in St. Paul, Nebraska. She is a graduate of St. Paul High School and a UNL graduate with a BA in Journalism. Carol worked in advertising, marketing, promotion and copywriting for almost 30 years, first at the Daily Nebraska, the Omaha World Herald, the Columbus Telegram and later for Columbus' largest automobile dealership. In 2009, she was named the executive director of the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation, a position she held for twelve years. Carol is the mother of two grown daughters who both live in Omaha and the grandmother of three great kids. Carol has resided in Columbus for over 40 years.
As the executive director of the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation, Carol secured the first $1 million outright gift and the first $1 million dollar estate gift, along with two other six figure estate gifts. She headed up the annual fundraising campaigns, including the $3.75 million contribution in 2019 from the Foundation to the Hospital's OR expansion, the $650,000 purchase of 3D mammography equipment and raised funds for the purchase of patient simulation mannequins, three portable ultrasound devices, a wide bore MRI and two diagnostic surgical simulation devices and others.
She successfully wrote for several private grants and cultivated relationships with previously "reluctant" donors.
